Susana Torres Prieto

Susana Torres Prieto is Associate Professor of Humanities at IE University (Segovia). She has developed her academic and research career in the areas of Slavic and Medieval Studies. She has specialised on the literature and culture of Kyivan Rus’, as well as on the means and context of transmission of knowledge. She has taught in several universities in Spain and abroad and, after have been member of several international research groups and directing her own, is currently Scientific Director of the MAPA project “The Golden Age of Kyivan Rus´” which explores the literary and artistic heritage of Kyivan Rus from its foundation to the Mongol invasion.

She has authored more than twenty articles and edited several volumes on medieval Slavic studies. Her latest monograph, The Early Slavs: The First Centuries of Eastern Europe (Routledge 2023) will soon be followed by her monograph on The Slavic Alexanders. She is currently preparing a critical edition of the apocryphal Acta Pilati to appear shortly in the Corpus Christianorumm, Series Aprochryphorum (Brepols)
